Dear Gotham,

A year ago, I contacted Gotham with rusty creative writing skills and little to no knowledge about writing for film. I was an aspiring film school applicant who didn’t know where to start and needed serious guidance. When I came across Gotham’s program that provided assistance for MFA creative writing applicants, I wrote in, apprehensive that they would not be able to help a producing student.

Thankfully, the staff at Gotham was kind enough to find me a perfect mentor and the program was tailored for my needs. My mentor, Raven Burnett was patient, kind and taught me the basics of screenwriting. Raven helped structure my ideas and ensured that while he provided the necessary guidance, the film treatments and essays were wholly mine and reflected my personality as an applicant. His mentorship and encouragement are unparalleled.

Thank you Gotham for allowing aspiring applicants like myself to have access to skilled writing professionals. I find myself a few weeks away from starting my MFA program at Columbia and I couldn’t have done it without your team. I know I’ll be back to learn more.
